Credit rating Issue

I am looking to soon apply for a morgage, however not sure how good my Credit Rating is..and how i can fix it?

I am about to buy the report from Equifax...though unsure what one to get??

Free Credit Report or Find out your Credit Rating?

Or should i be doing something else?

Buy the credit report. Also look at Experian (https://www.creditexpert.co.uk) as they are the most popular credit reference agency.

Are you in a massive rush?
If not get the £2 statutory report.
The free trial can be difficult to cancel and some people have ended up paying after their cancellation was "lost" or they had to wait on the phone for 40 minutes.

If it's urgent then you might require something faster, but the statutory one comes in about a week.

Thanks for the above...wil read through the link..

How do i apply for the £2 report?

though wanted to get it out of the way quickly..but seems on the site i had already registered perhaps afew years back..

Does this mean i will have to pay?

The link does say these reports are more easy to understand then the £2 ones..

If you have already had the trial you would need to pay (every month until you cancel). The £2 reports are pretty easy to understand and come with extensive notes to explain them and providing information on how to amend any errors in your reports etc. Not sure how quick things are with the postal strike but I ordered reports from Experian, Equifax and Callcredit a couple of weeks ago and they arrived on the doorstep 3 days later.

Equifax now allow you to view your Statutory Report instantly online for the same price as the postal report (£2). I realised this last week - it saved me a week or so waiting for my report, especially with the postal strikes.

    Useful info.
I ordered mine from Experian recently and it came by post.

    Go for equifax then.
They will tell you the other reports are better but charge you a lot more money for it.
It's not necessary. It's jsut that theymake more money so want to sell it to you.
