When claiming insurance

on a credit card or loan for that matter if you have been made redundant, is there any sort of mark that goes on your credit file to say it's being paid off through an insurance claim or does it just show up as a normal payment..?. My partner applied for an increase on her loan at the weekend and they refused. She reckons she was refused because she is the 2nd applicant on my loan and and i'm claiming the insurance on it at the moment.

I think your partner's jumping to conclusions.
I'd encourage her to check her credit files. (For help, see page 1 of the *How to obtain credit reports* sticky.) Once she knows what lenders see, she's in a better position to improve their opinionPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

Well that is what i am thinking... she wasn't nasty when saying it, but she just said she thought it might be the reason. That aside does a special mark go on your file to say it's being paid off by the insurance or does it just show as a normal payment..?.
Would be nice to know either way.0 -
No experience personally, but there's no status code used on credit files, which would identify insurance claims.
FWIW, I doubt whether lenders can distinguish BACS payments made by insurance companies from those of their customersPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
