insurance claim help please!!

my ex partner had an accident in my car, she went through her own insurance to claim. we have recently split up and was a bad break up and she has sadi she is cancelling the claim now. my question is where do i stand about making a claim myself, can i claim and who do i claim against. If anyone can help it would be very much appreiciated. Thanks for looking.

  • You need to ring your insurance company asap, for a start they will probably have a time limit that you need to claim within, say 30-90 days. They should be able to advise you according to your policy.

    If she wasn't covered by your insurance, then they won't be interested in this incident, unless a third party could be making a claim against her.

    Was she covered by your insurance to drive your car? If not, and she was using her own "driving other cars" insurance, then you will need to make your claim against the responsible party's insurer.
