I was miss sold a scottish provident ppi through the Right To Buy Advisory Service (RTBAS) in Ilford essex when I purchased my flat in 2003. I had an existing condition which I informed the sale person about and i ended up paying double the premium for it, when I went to claim they advised that I did not meet the conditions.

I cannot seem to get hold of anyone at their office and don't know what steps to take next. Can anyone advise what I can do next?

If you declared the medical condition and the insurer accepted that but increased the premium to cover the increased risk, then that would indicate that the procedures have been followed correctly. Its in cases of non disclosure where you have scope to complain.

Being rejected in a claim is not a mis-sale. What were you claiming under (what reason) and why did they refuse? (not meeting conditions doesnt tell us much)

I agree to an extent, but I informed the advisor that I was due to go into hospital in two months time and that I needed cover to pay my mortgage as I had no other means to do this. He advised that the policy offered would cover me for my condition and that were i to make a claim it would pay out. This did not happen and I fell behind with my mortgage as a result. Surley he should not have advised me correctly and not sold me a policy that did not meet my needs at the time.

I was claiming under an ongoing medical condition. They had a list of thing which they sent and I had to be unable to do six of the criteria in order to claim. This list was was not included in the information I previously recieved.

That bit isnt right so that is the bit you should focus on. No insurance policy will cover you for an event that is already in progress.

Whilst that ongoing condition may have not been included, it would still have covered you for unforeseen conditions. So, I wouldnt focus too much on that.
