What Have You Done Today That Is Debt Free Wannabe Stylee? Sunday 28th May

Options
OK I'm starting it off again today! I don't have much to add so far as I haven't been out of the shower long :o

However I am doing some washing to hang out on the line as it is very windy & sunny. (I saved it from yesterday when it was raining so I didn't have to use the tumble dryer!)

Am off to Sainsburys shortly and I have made my weekly meal planner which contains several meals which wil be kitchen cupboard use-ups i.e. I have some tagliatelle waiting to be finished so all I need to do is buy some veggies to go with it....I also have half a bag of red lentils so tomorrow I am making a VERY easy spicy red lentil soup, just going to buy a (hopefully reduced) crusty baguette or something to go with it. You get the picture.

I will do QuidCo searches soon & my pigsback stuff too. I will add more later (if there is more to add).

I hope everyone manages to do something today. Come & tell me/us all about it! :D

I am also drying my laundry outside today. For lunch I had Blue Dragon noodles (30p) with homesprouted beansprouts for added nutritional value, and a mars bar from a multipack (20p). My DFW Buddy has just come back from a week away, so I'll be catching up with her shortly. I will not be spending any money this week apart from Wednesday - Morrisons shopping and weekly Diesel fill.
This weekend I have also applied for my balance transfer to a 0% card, which should be sorted in 10 days, so I feel very optimistic :j .

I borrowed sometools of my Dad to fix a leaking tap rather than go and buy them at B&Q (which is what I used to do).
Fixing the tap has obviously saved water although we're not on a meter so no actual money saving there.

Whilst underneath the sink I found a tea canister with some teabags in - they're ceylon I think and I guess the wife tidied them into there a while ago as whe doesn't like Ceylon tea. So that will save on teabags this month.

Phoned Mint yesterday to pay off arrears and found out the account is actually up to date. So that saved £198. Then my wife came home from her Saturday job - She worked an extra 2 hours which is a bit more money plus they've asked here to go in today (time and 1/2!) so it's going well so far this weekend.

Went to a car boot - feeling guilty for spending too much but probably nothing compared to what would've been spent in the past on a trip to the retail park!

Will be cooking roast lamb (shoulder, not leg as too expensive) tonight, potatoes, parsnips, cauli and peas. DH may also make a HM apple tart.

Also arranged to pick up a new bike for DD from freecycle tomorrow.

Oh dear. I did a good shopping list, vowed to not buy anything that wasn't on it and went to Tesco. And promptly spent £59.89 for 4 (inc baby!!) for the week.

However, I'm going to sit down and look at what I got. I think with some rejigging I'll be able to make it last about 10 days or more actually thinking about it, as got loads of yellow stickered items - large organic eggs (11 as one smashed) for 62p, large free range eggs 11 (again one smashed) for 62p (yes, I will eat them all, we have a lot of eggs in this house!!) lean steak mince more than half price (got 8 meals worth for £2.48:) ). Got my oh 2 pot noodles for £1 to stop him moaning that there's nothing to eat/snack on.
Got the little organix biscuits I get for the kids on a yellow sticker as packaging ripped.

So need to rejig and I think that is quite DFW even though I spent £10 more than I intended. Just need to now make it last longer...

Have sold 5 items on Amazon from my marathon listing last night. Need to pack those (£1 shop here I come) and sent on tues.

Going to go in the garden and play with the kids after lunch and decline the invitation to go to the local soft play centre (£5.95 eeek + refreshments).

    I've been Money Tipped!
We had two "leftover" dinners today - oh had stir fry noodles and I had chicken stew and dumplings. So saved the cost of a sunday dinner.

Lazy start...up about 11am (late night, but no cost ;) )

Worked out I spent about £10 on weed-killers for weeds on the gravel path last year, so invested £4.50 in some week suppressant material and have laid that (hard work it was too). Planted freebie bedding plants courtesy of an old Aunt.

Wrapped all the pressies for June birthdays and Fathers Day.

Dinner is a stew - meat from freezer and using up veggies.

Long luxurious bath and pamper session tonight as aching in places I never knew existed!
