Help needed
I have had my laptop (packard bell ) since last september starting to get a bit slow, decided i would do a fresh install with the master CD that i created, when i got it,
It started to do the install it quick formatted the C:
i think it started to reinstall then it shut itself off
now it reads the CD, loads Smartdrv and detects Ramdrive,
it loads MS tools
then hangs at the point of Checking for ATAPI drive.
if i boot without the cd it boots to a command prompt, looking at the C drive, some bits have been installed as there are some windows and system files etc,
have tried rebooting with and without the cd but gets to the points above
URGENT HELP PLEASE MUCH APPRECIATED

Does the rescue CD use Ghost to reimage the PC or is it a full unattended install? You can check by popping the CD into another drive and looking for .GHO file(s).
If it does, what you could do is create a bootable CD with Ghost on it from another PC then use that to boot your laptop then swap discs to do the actual clone.

Now i seems to be reinstalling
Very strange
