Alpharooms

Has anyone any experience of Alpha Rooms ?
They are the cheapest for hotel rooms, but have an optional insurance to waiver cancellation charges, in my case it would be £121 they would charge £31 for my cc

If I had to cancel and hadn't paid their insurance would my travel insurance cover it ?

That would depend on whether your reason for cancelling was covered by your travel insurance policy.

Normally travel insurance only covers cancellation if you fall ill or there are major transport issues etc. Not if you just don't want to go any more. Whereas as for Alpharooms policy-- you'll have to read it!

My Mum and Dad used them in 2005 for Mallorca and they were fine.
  • I booked flight, transfer and hotel with Alpharooms. I travelled to Majorca this October. All went smoothly and would definitely use them again.

I have checked with my travel policy insurers (Stay Sure) and I am covered for cancellations with a £65 excess. So no need to pay Alpharooms to waiver the cancellation penalty.

I have read a few adverse reviews for Alpharooms so I am being a little over cautious, thanks Effervescent for the vote of confidence.

We used Alpharooms last year for accommodation in Majorca and everything was fine. Would use them again.

Does the 5% back include the full price of the hotel including the £31 credit card charge , or just the hotel price ?

I always use alpharooms via Qudico. Never had any problems.
