Restarting Issues

Options
Hey,

I have a big problem, whenever im on the computer it randomly restarts, i dont now why, i have tried scanning the computer with anti-virus and ad-aware-pro, but before the scan finishes, it would have restarted. Also when i am istalling applications in the middle of the installation it goes.

Any help would be useful

    Okay do the following:
My Computer > Properties > System Properties> Advanced> Start UP And Recovery and unseletected restart automaticlly

Now if next time it comes up with a bulescreen insted of restarting, its a windows problem, if it restarts still its a hardware problem

Get back to us with your results :-)

    Thanks Tom :-)

    hi,

I have installed an external Belkin USB port inserter.

I was just looking round on the web and saw that a problem whic causes the computer to restart is the broadband adsl modem or something like that, that will cause a fatal Stop. I remebered that after my computer restarted i sent the error to microsft and it said something like 'fatal stop' or something like that.

    Thanks

Take the [STRIKE]router[/STRIKE] USB PCI Card out and try PC if all is OK its the PCI Card , you may need some software update or firmware update, have a look for issues with that card via the Belkin website.http://www.belkin.com/uk/

I just edited this post :D

    Hey,

Thanks for that, but i dont use a router. What i use is a place where you can insert more usb ports.

Start > settings > control Panel > admin tools > event viewer.

Does it give you any errors in there and if so what do they say? (for around the times it restarts)
