morning all. Hoping someone out there can help me with disconnecting a skybox. I have cancelled my sub, but the box is on permanent standby (using lecky 24/7), I have disconnected the phone line from the set but if I remove the mains lead my tv goes off, there are 2 scart cables 1 connected to the dvd and 1 to the tv. Help please! I will not be going back to sky so dont need the set top box.

plug your ariel cable into the TV rather than the sky box. Unplug the scart from the TV and plug the Sky to DVD scart into the TV (from the sky end)0

If you are not using your digibox to recieve payfor viewing you can still use it for digital reception for free, nearly all the freeview channels are on the sky network, I assume you will still watch tv in which case you will need a signal be it through the aerial or the sky box. If this is not the case remove both scart leads from the sky box. route one scart lead from your dvd to your tv and connect a standard aerial lead from your aerial wall socket to your dvd, also connect an RF lead from your dvd to your tv.
hope this helps"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0 -

If you look on the Sky website there should be a number you can call to get a freeview card, which should give you access to all the freeview channels available.0

As renegade has just cancelled their subscription, there is no point spending £20 on the "freeview" card. (It really shouldn't be called a freeview card as this might imply that you get the same channels as with a freeview box)
A skybox without any card will get all the BBC channels, all the ITV channels and then a lot of shopping stuff (plus lots of Radio)
You need a current card to decode the free channels that are still encrypted (i.e. C4 and C5). So renegades current card should give C4 and C5
From July , Filmfour will also be free
Subscription still needed for Sky1-3, E4 and More4 (I think)0
