I bought one of those Dell Monitors priced at £126, and for quite a while it would auto switch to standby then I could switch off the monitor itself.
Now I can't switch the monitor off, have to do it via mains switch when I turn off computer. A file says I have the wrong driver, BUT it did work, so figure if I cancel any Dell files and apps, and put in the disc again. Do you think this might work??
Warranty up early June.

Very much doubt it's the driver. The driver won't control the power switch on the monitor just the message sent from the PC.

Just looked in the file again.....this is what it reads...initially when I got the monitor it worked so figured to delete and repeat, otherwise a warranty job.

The currently installed driver for the Dell Auto-Shutdown Service is not compatible with this version of Microsoft Windows and will be disabled during the upgrade.

For more information about this driver, visit the manufacturer's Web site.

For a list of devices supported by this version of Microsoft Windows, see the Microsoft Windows XP Compatibility List at http://www.microsoft.com.

I put the disc in again, still the same.
I deleted the files after finding them in Search
Put the disc in again, pressed for auto adjust, and it now works fine.
