Thank you everyone for the helpful replies. I have contacted the previous boss who wrote excellent reference and she has offered to write references for me Asap. I have not had a chance to phone human resources to make sure they are following through my complaint, but hope to do so tomorrow. I have decided to also conatct my union. I am still worried that the job applications to the post outwith the authority may be jepodised as they wrote directly to bully boss.

I have decided to take bully boss's previous references to the interview plus a copy of my letter to human resources. Also going to write and ask them to take up refrences from nice old boss.

I had a big of a confidence boost today as we had inspectors in observing. They made great comments on my work and said it was of such a high standard they could not think of any recommendations for future improvements.
