can i pay a house / mortgage deposit with a credit card?

They are few and far between in my experience but there are some around who do.

because as long as the money is in an interest earning account it's making me money, and as long as the charges for putting the deposit on a credit card are less than this it makes good financial sence.

Thanks to everyone who's posted helpfull replies, it's given me a few things to check out but reasured me it is possible and others are doing it.
