AA Loan PPI....

Hi all,

After some success from alliance and leicester, thought i'd have a go at my old AA loan. Sent off an SAR, thanks for the template i got off here, got all my details back. Basically i'd had 2 loans from aa (1 in 2004 for 1k, then another in 2005 for 5k) Both of which had ppi on them and remember being told at the time that it was required for me to have the loan. Anyone had much success with the 'aa', i've tried searching on the forum but 'aa' is too short to find anything.......

Even though i've already had success with my a&l claim i still don't feel very confident in doing it so any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Ryan

First of all well done with A&L.

I expect there have been success with AA, its such a long thread which goes so far back lol, but give it a go anyway, with your reasons you have, as you had 2 loan/ppi, if you were mis sold for the same reasons, then write on the same letter, by writing both account numbers.

I expect by now you know the procedures of reclaiming, but anyway, below is the link to the guidelines of reclaiming, a check list of mis selling reasons and template letters etc.

As you know they have 8 weeks in full to respond, keep at them, if they do not resolve in your favour, then you can always try the financial ombudsman service (FOS), where they should give these details in the final response.

And of course, post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.
Good luck with this Ryan, please keep us posted and ask for help when required.;)

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Loan Account Number: xxxxxxxxxxx

I purchased the above loan (along with payment protection insurance) on the 27th January 2005, but I now believe that I was mis-sold this protection insurance policy for the following reasons:

    • When my agreement came through the post, I contacted you to enquire if the insurance could be removed, however your salesperson implied that I would only get the loan if the insurance was taken out and they were also very pushy about me keeping the policy.
    · It was never actually explained to me what the insurance does or does not cover.

Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

    Yours faithfully,

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

I'm subscribing to your thread as I am also about to claim PPI from my existing AA loan.

Yours is the 4th address I've seen for them too! Did that address get you your SAR?
  • Just to say that I had a phone call today from Bank of Scotland to say they will be upholding my claim for mis-sold PPI on two loans - one taken out in 2001 and the other in 2004. Sent letter to Centrica on 9th October, had reply from Bank of Scotland on 19th October saying they were investigating and then a phone call today to say the claims would be upheld and that they would be sending a letter to say for how much. Said I would be refunded the premiums paid, interest on those payments and then another 8% added on top. Will let you know how it progresses. Thanks to everyone who write in to this forum with advice and encouragement - really helped me to bite the bullet and send that letter!

Send all letters for AA to HBOS .... you may find it's quicker than sending them around the country only for them to be passed to HBOS anyway.
  • Update,

Heard back from them last week, have agreed to pay me full amount plus interest. Just waiting for the figures to come through..
