hotelclub.net?? will they honour?

Hello,

Some questions from a 'novice'

I booked a cheapo room with the above today. It was clearly a glitch and the room was a 10th of the price which has now been ammended...

Its for one night only in 2weeks time. I paid by credit card and the confirmation voucher/invoice has been sent to me. My order is confirmed, and the voucher that i have to present to the hotel to my understanding can not be ammended. But maybe im wrong...

Has anybody booked with this company. Can they get back to me and say: 'you have paid, we have sent you a confirmation voucher for the hotel and debbited your account, but we have made a mistake and are taking it back....'

I want to book travel etc but im nervous in case they come back and say no. Its likely this was a one off, and nobody else has paid this amount. It also might not noticed. The voucher i have to give to the hotel does not state the price. I wonder if i can confirm with the hotel to make sure im booked it,

Can somebody offer me an insight. Never booked with hotelclub and im worried as its a 'mistake rate' im on....

Thanks kindly...

You might try contacting the hotel since it is 2 weeks away to see if they already have the list of guests. If not, ask them when it is customary to receive the lists. You can explain this is the first time you are using hotelclub and are a bit worried, nothing else.

If you really really want to be on the safe side, book an alternative refundable with a generous cancellation policy, preferibly that you don't have to pay in advance (normally hotel chains will have this type of cancelation policy) and closer to the date call the hotel from hotelclub to see if they get the list and cancel then. Look, if the cancellation policy for the second room is generous enough you might hold the situation until the day before your stay.

Hopefully someone will come along with a similar experience and can help you out. And if there is a place where people who have booked glitches will visit, it is this one!!

    Thanks.

I read on there website that they(hotelclub) send the names to the hotel, i wonder if it is too soon though to contact the hotel??

I really dont want to book travel etc until i know the room is guaranteed. They say on there site the rate is guaranteed etc, i have the confirmation voucher for the hotel and its there fault so i hope that i will encounter no issue.

However it says the below in there booking conditions which is a worry to me:

HotelClub will make every effort to ensure that the information available on our website is accurate. However, HotelClub cannot and will not guarantee our website from inaccuracies caused by error or fault. HotelClub will not accept liability for any errors or omissions contained on the HotelClub website and reserves the right to change published information (including these Booking Conditions) at any time without notice.

....i also dont know how the process works with hotelclub.net. Maybe its not possible for them to catch this mistake price. They pay the hotel, perhaps even not before i have my stay. My confirmation voucher and invoice were sent instantly so if its all done automatically/online then hopefully i am in the clear...
  • I suspect it'll be honoured, because the hotel won't know how much you've paid to HotelClub for the room.

Unless HotelClub contact you and cancel the voucher themselves, I'd think you were okay. Of course, you could phone them, but that runs the risk of them noticing and then cancelling because it was an error.

If it were me, I'd turn up and risk it..

Once Hotel Club notice the error they will cancel the room, they will have to pay the hotel in order to make the reservation, once they realise that you have paid clearly the incorrect price they wont book it and honour it

Dont book travel, I know you wont get this

Oh no please dont say this....

How do you know? Have you had experince with them? I know this is a one off(they only had one room at this small hotel and no more are available through hotel club now on this date) -if they notice the error, will they really cancel it? Its one night, one room at the price -although it is an almighty price mistake granted!! Its been almost 24hours since i booked... you woulld have thought they would have noticed & made contact with me today.

My credit card has already been charged and the confirmation voucher to give to the hotel sent. Would they really cancel??

I was hoping to book travel tonight as i just know it will sky rocket.

Expedia, a couple of years ago, put ALL Bellagio (Las Vegas) rooms on at the same price. From the basic room to the Penthouse suits.
As a result I booked 5 nights in a Penthouse for £120 / night. These are obviously normally MUCH more expensive.
My booking was honoured and Expedia just sucked it up!
I also put it on this website and lots more people got bargains too :)

I have used hotelclub on many occasions in hotels around the world. I have never had any problems with them. You earn £'s, $',s and can put them towards your next booking.

I am now platinum member status. I did have a problem once with the name they put on the voucher. I called them and they emailed me another voucher almost immediately.

They are an Australian based company but they do have a UK number.

    I trust them 100%

Thanks for the feedback, good to hear someone who has dealt with HotelClub before.

I think i have a better chance of them honouring it as its a one off. It is a tenth of the price yes, but its booked and a confirmation voucher has been received. I would have thought if there was an issue they would have contacted me today. They have charged my credit card and so i am going to go ahead and book the corresponding travel.

Ill also contact the hotel soon and see of they have received the (my)booking name! My booking is in 10days so hopefully they will give it to the hotel asap.

Hope i encounter no problems.... Keep your fingers crossed for me.

It will be the bargain of the century if all goes as it now should...
