The eu is telling us to break up our banks that we taxpayers bailed out to prevent a repeat of banks failing , to make them more competitve they say , yet the iceland banks were considerably smaller and the most competitive and went down faster than a crack hooker on pay day.
Will we ever learn?
Whats the problem, if the banks are covered by the FSCS scheme.0 -
I would change your signature line too! A lot of people who post to these forums use "YOUR" instead of "you are".
And this "Grammar nazis , mean "anything to me" is incomprehensible. I was determined never to criticise grammar but you must agree that we need to know what you mean.chopperharris wrote: »I have enough grammar to be mortgage/debt free and almost retired before the age 40 , and no not in mums room.
Grammar nazis , mean "anything" to me.;) but i could be worse I cld hv txtd .

Really shoud be "you're".
However it seems the correct use of the apostrophe is a dying art.And this "Grammar nazis , mean "anything to me" is incomprehensible.
Having been corrected by Jonbvn for using a double negative, i.e. not and nothing instead of not and anything, the OP thought he would "try to be clever" and misuse "anything" in place of "nothing".
Didn't really work though did it?
The phrase of course should have read "Grammar nazis mean nothing to me."0 -
Thanks jem16 & Jake'sGran for the advice on changing my signature line! If only I had a Grammar Check button next to the Spell Check.Really shoud be "you're".
Just for the record, when I said:I'm sorry but I don't understand what your getting at? Maybe the title of your thread should have been Have the FSCS not learned anything instead of Have the savers not learned nothing.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
Where's the spelling, grammar and use of apostrophes forum?;)0

Yes it would but the you're in your signature is correct, although I have no idea if you just corrected it or not.
It was "you are" before but I have now corrected it to "you're", hence the reason I thought you and JakesGran were referring to me in your earlier posts.
Merci beaucoup!Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
The Icelandic Parliament also use English to publish their press releases here.
Althingi sounds like they are responsible for all things.
