    If the urge strikes come and see me - I've got tons!!! Plus loads of curry sauce, cook in sauce, lasagne sauce etc. Mainly due to kids bringing back stuff from uni. Nothing to cook with them though. Thinking of doing peas in curry sauce tomorrow night. Or fruit cocktail in peppercorn sauce (well, have read about strawberries sprinkled with black pepper, this is my version!:wink: )
    LMAO, thats something I don't have. My kids are ickle so I avoid sauces due to the salt content. Fruit cocktail sounds interesting :p

    I had to pop to the postbox last night to post some "return to sender/take me off you list please" post I'd found under a pile of papers and it's right next to the Co-op :o Through the window I spotted Apple Pies reduced, and since DD had asked me to make one I thought I'd have a look to see how much they were :wall: I ended up spending £13.91 but it was all meat, except for apple pies and all, except the sausages, were on offer :p

    Left :£48.48 until the 28th-ish

    I can do this...if I just stay away from the reduced/offers :rolleyes::rotfl:

    Well you can see from my signature that I've already spent all but about £20 of my budget, however I've done a meal plan and am sticking to it so I think I've now got enough food to last til the end of the month - apart from salad, veg & crusty bread which I'll buy as and when I need it.

    I'm so determined to stick to the budget - I hope I don't blow it!

    This month includes my BF’s birthday :bdaycake: so his birthday present will have to come out of that budget also as well as any food my flatmates and I need to get for his birthday :eek: (hrm after remembering that £50 may be spot on but I'm still hoping that I can spend less than that).

    Budget = £50.
    Spent already = £0 (as month hasn't started yet).
    Budget left = £50.

    Most the money saved is going towards a treat for all people in the flat (BF + 2 other couples and I) for christmas and/or trips to Camden:D . Also need to save up to buy a wedding present for one of the couples I live with as they are getting married next year :) so money saved will also go towards that.
    Update on spendings:

    Budget = £50.
    Spent already = £16.
    Budget left = £34.

    I spent £6 on my share of food for the weekly shop so that's the shopping done. Do need to get toothpaste though and will have to get that later. The other £10 was on my boyfriends’ birthday yesterday. We went out for a meal and then the cinema (fortunately the cinema tickets were free as we went with our friends that work there :T otherwise it would have been another £6+). I still owe my boyfriend a present as I haven't been able to go out much due to college, revision and exams :o . He needs a pair of trousers to replace the ones I completely ruined a while back so I’m thinking of getting him a good pair that are stronger to replace those, although that will cost £10 - £30 :eek: .
    I think I'm doing quite well overall at the moment as I have had to accommodate a birthday this month. Need to make the £34 I have left stretch untill the 2nd of July. I'm positive that I can. Wish me luck.

    Edit: Another update

    Spent £12.32 in my local health food store round the coner from where I live :eek: . I only went in there for toothpaste and dairy free ice cream (due to hot weather) but ended up getting more :( . This means I only have £21.68 left to spend for this month (although I do have £2 of M and S vouchers and a £2.50 tesco club voucher if I need them but I don't want to use them unless I have to really. I could use the £2.50 this week though to get some fresh veg and fruit that I need). £7.22 for each week. I should be fine as long as I don't go in that health food shop. It definatly is my downfull going in that place :mad: .

    Budget = £50.
    Spent already = £28.32.
    Budget left = £21.68.

    I would like to join too please. I'd like to aim for 300 pounds for this month, for all 5 of us, but as it's our first month I am expecting this to be very difficult! Just getting Mr Brassic to save his receipts is challenging enough <argh!>. Looking forwards to seeing some positive changes in this area!
    Debts @ lightbulb moment (13/06/2006) - £59,842.23 :eek: All commercial debts now clear!!! :T Debts April - £20,000 to family (incl extra £10k borrowed for house deposit). DFD - Aug 2014
    Proud to be dealing with my debts
    Goal of the month - £500 on groceries for family of 5 - Apr 2011 - £620! :( May - £454.85 so far.

    Yesterday my boyfriend needed some money to go out with his mates (he's low on funds at the moment and doesn't get paid till next week) and as he hadn't been out for a while I gave him £20. Only problem is that if you look at my budget left below you will see I only have £1.68 to last me untill the 2nd of July :eek: ! I'm not going to ask for the money back but for it to be taken out of next months rent (I've done this as I also gave him extra money last time so now will only have to give him £23.33 for rent on the 12th which I already have waiting to be tranfered over to his bank so I don't forget). I think I have 10 frozen home made meals in the freezer so considering I'm at my parents house for the weekend I should be fine for dinners untill the 2nd. I also have enough oats to last me for a good long time yet. I'm just not convinced that I will be able to get enough fruit and veg for 2 weeks out off less than £2. I'm now deperate enough that I know I will have to use the Tesco clubcard voucher my ma gave me but even with that it's still just over £4 to get two weeks of fruit and veg out of. Can someone tell me if they think this is possible at all please. Thank you.

    Budget = £50.
    Spent already = £48.32.
    Budget left = £1.68

    had a fantastic week, only spent £30 of my £70 budget, i withdrew the money and put it in a separate purse, which i think helped cos i could see it going down..we also ate out a coupl of times-terrible i know, but this is why i want to be able to manage my money better-to be able to comfortably be able to enjoy life..bit deep i know..

    anyway, i also started baking last week as well, and i didnt include all of the things i had to buy in the budget-cos it woulnt have been realistic to stock up on everything all in one go, the baking was great tho, i made muesli slices which husband had each day with his lunch instead of pre-bought, when these have all gone i'll def do these again..

    also just did a rough count of my £2 and packed lunch savings-been saving £1 for each packed lunch i have as i worked out each one costs me about 84p, and i'd normally pay at least £3 a day...and with this and all my change that i save-everything under 50p gets saved and in just over a month ive got neary £70!!!!! sadly, not for anything exciting, will help to pay off my uni fees.. :(
    Budget for Jan/Feb £240 per 4 weeks
    Week 1-£52 :rolleyes: Week 2-£75 :eek:
    Week 3-£60.66 :confused:Week 4-£29.98 Total=£217.58
    w/c 18th Feb: £6.50

    Well....

    I've now spent £95.47 of my £100 budget - it's not as bad as it looks. It means I have £4.53 to last until Sunday, but I'm pretty hopeful that I will only need to buy a bag of potatoes and a few other veggies as hopefully I have everything else I need.

    If I manage to achieve this then I will be very very pleased as I will have knocked £25 off my original budget which can go straight into our honeymoon fund. Fingers crossed :undecided

    Roll on the July challenge!
