Lloyds Gold Card

I've had a Lloyds Gold card for many years. At the start, I was told that I would be entitled to a free financial review every year. This happened for a few years but hasn't happened for several years now.

I'm in the middle of reclaiming on a dozen or so loans and PPIs from Lloyds - they have been missold by the same people in the same branch and have generally been sold during the reviews.

I didn't realise I had any insurance on my loans, credit card or mortgage - I didn't ask for it and didn't agree to it. I still got it, though, and am dealing with repayments now.

I wondered whether anyone had fought the payments on the Gold card on the basis that advice given was really poor quality.

I've looked at the Lloyds website recently and found there's nothing about financial reviews for Gold card members.

Has anyone else got one of these cards and tried to argue against the advice?

    Hi there

Good luck with all your ppi reclaims etc.;)

Do you mean a Gold card such as in Debit card?
I am not certain on this as such as in regards of this actual matter, but we used to have a yearly review with lloyds, where they used to go through everything, such as the accounts, cards etc etc.

Mind you like yourself this was a few years ago now lol.

Hopefully someone will be along soon with some info for you, good luck.

  • Hi Di

Yes, it's a debit card. Thanks for the good wishes about my PPI - I'm calling the Ombudsman tomorrow morning so that when Lloyds call me in the afternoon I can mention it to them.

Every single time I've had anything to do with Lloyds, they've slapped a PPI on me. Yet, funnily enough, the dealings I've had with other companies (Virgin credit card, washing machine loan and car loan) have not had PPIs attached, because I've been asked whether I've wanted them and I've said no. With Lloyds, they've put them on without my knowing. I just wondered whether I could use this Gold thing against them, if they're supposed to be advising me on my money. For example, when I've had a review and said I can't manage, they didn't suggest getting rid of a PPI (because I have conditions at work which mean I don't need them) and have in fact slapped another one on.

    Your welcome.;)

This is Lloyds all over, and I think you have made a good point here, and worth bringing this up as well, as part of your complaint.
Good luck with the FOS, please let us know how you get on.
    Cheers.
