    Hello

I missed my 1st of the month update - £1600 paid off mtge 1 because I have been busy workwise :jand also because I was getting excited about the first update on the MTiT-T2 challenge.

    My figures for this are
    Mtge 1 160319.66
    Mtge 2 20538.20
    Reserve 48250.00
    Total 229107.86

I am feeling very pleased with the mtge 1 figure, the mtge 2 has just normal payments because I'v already op'd the 10% for this year. The reserve could be worse and could be better (worse - my tax bill was what I had calculated so I didn't have to draw on it as I was wottied I might, better - I'd have paid some off over the normal payments if the government didn't hold up their payments between Christmas and the 5th April - I have done the work after all)

Well I havent been very good at keeping a diary this year. I managed to complete 65.10% of the 2010 MFW challenge run by Cake 21 and am gearing up for a better effort next year.

    Happy New Year

Good Luck to you ;) :T:T:T
  • Has anyone just seen Newsnight where three interest rate raises this year were being considered as reasonable for the bond market to remain quiescent

I get the impression that these rises will be small and done over 3 years - young Mervyn has said that inflation is probably going to be high for three years... so we've all been given notice that rates are on the way up. Carry on with the overpayments while the sun is still shining is the message I'm taking.
