Item wrongly sent twice!

Hi everyone,
First time posting here, so be gentle with me!
First of all, i am amazed at how much i have learnt even just reading a couple of threads on consumer rights and secondly, its a long one so apologies!!
My problem started when i bought a Vax vacuum cleaner last year, since then i have had to return it three times. When it broke again last time i wrote a very strongly worded letter to Vax and requested that i receive a new machine due to having no confidence in their repairs any longer.
Turns out they were willing to give me a new machine and also an upgrade on the machine i had to the top of the range one, i was rather chuffed with the seemingly positive outcome! :T
In between sending the last machine back and writing the complaint letter i moved house. At the top of the complaint letter i made it clear i had a new address. A few days later, i got a returns bag sent to my new address and i packed up the broken machine and arranged for a courier to pick it up. The next day my OH's mum told me that she had intercepted a courier driving up to our old house (she lives up the same dead ended country lane) and signed for the parcel. I picked up my new machine that night and was pleased!
Today i got an unexpected delivery from a courier at my work, of a new Vax cleaner. Tonight when i went over to OH's mum's she had received a letter in her name from Vax asking her to return the machine in the enclosed bag and gave instructions how to.
What i would really like to know is where do i stand regarding keeping both machine's which are now at my house (one unopened and one used twice).
Any advice or helpful knowledge would be fantastic!!
TIA

I suspect you will get flamed on this forum.
You've had a faulty vax replaced with not only a brand new one, but a better spec. And then they have sent a second one in error.
My suspicion is that you are looking for moral support to keep the second unused VAX. I'm afraid you won't get it from me.
I've found VAX customer services to be excellent in the past. Technically, they could've have kept on repairing the old one should they so wished but they've gone out to keep you as happy as possible. They've made an error because they went of the old order address details and not your recent letter, and you're looking to punish them for it.
Morally, you should return it.
Legally, others will advise.0 -
You should send it back. After all, they've been really good to you, and they are aware they've sent one in error, so they'll keep on.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
