These are things measured by a machine. Your mechanic must not have adjusted the cable correctly or bled the brakes right (air still in the system).
Thats why you also have a new fail.0 -
well he is gonna take a look at them again tomorrow
well heres hoping its just a re adjustmentSealed pot challenger # 10

Hmmm...parking brake is cable operated. Service brake is hydraulically operated. I presume the service brake failed on the rear? (not the front)
If so, it sounds likely the rear brakes shoes may be contaminated. maybe just R/O/S.
Whatever the cause, it sounds worrying that a "mechanic" has worked on the brakes but needed to do a MOT brake test to discover they were still faulty."Now to trolling as a concept. .... If you’ve had cylinders it’s presumably because they were leaking and so fluid will have contaminated the shoes. This is impossible to clean off so the shoes need replacing0

In the old days, people used to burn off any oil contamination.
But with (a) more reliable brakes expected (b) the cost of labour and (c) new brake shoes now only costing £15-£30 a set, best to just fit new."Now to trolling as a concept. .... You can't remove oil from contaminated pads.0 -
You might be able to remove brake fluid if you tipped some on to the shoes and removed it straight away.
If they’ve been soaking in brake fluid and exposed to heat etc you’ve got no chance, fit new ones or rather get your “mechanic” to fit new ones as he should have done first time round.0 -
You need a new mechanic, no excuses:mad:;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
