Northern rock ppi gone to fsa help please

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody else is having the same problem as me, I submitted a claim for ppi through northern rock in August by following the template letters, I received a letter back from them stating that they had received it etc. After the eight weeks was up before i sent my second letter to them i decided to call them to find out where the claim was up to, i was then told my northern rock that all claims for ppi have been stopped until at least the end of the year and I should contact the FSA to lodge a complaint. They havent written any letters to me explaining this, so If i hadnt rang them I would have been none the wiser. I have lodged a claim with the FSA who are looking into this.
Today I have received all the forms from the FSA to complete and they have advised me also in the letter that they have written to northern rock regarding my claim.
I was wondering if I should phone northern rock again, or should i Leave it to the FSA
does anyone think they are fobbing me off? has anyone else had any problems like this.

any help would be appreciated

    Hi Ruth

Do you mean the FOS (Financial ombudsman service)?

If so just give them a quick ring to ask them on this to make sure here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html

Did Northern Rock also give you the contact details of them?

on fos website there is a warning about scammers pretending to be from the fos wanting your bank details.

they are a government owned bank so i cant see them stopping claims, no other company has, maybe the wrong information was given out? it could be that they have a lot of claims and it could take to the end of the year, and as its only10 weeks to the end of the year it will take that long given the 8 weeks etc, that is just my thoughts on this. by the way di do you feel any better today? x
