Money transferred twice...help...

Hi,

Something very weird happened. Last week I requested a transfer to my halifax current account from my Virgin credit card. Wanted to avoid new overdraft charges from halifax and still have 0% interest until June 2010 with Virgin...

Anyhow, money transeferred to my current account today...twice! Came in on the same day I got paid and now have a very healthy looking balance!! However, on checking my virgin recent transactions page online, it appears they have only transferred the requested amount once...so my question is...

What do I do? Is it just a clerical error that will resolve itself or do I open a high interest account and stick the extra away?!

Would really appreciate views/suggestions...keep going to check the balance online as am really confused!!

Thanks in advance!

Dont know if its related or not but the prepaid credit cards are having problems with duplicate transactions at the moment so might be a Visa problem, so best to hold off for a few days just to see if they whip it back!!!
  • The same happened to me last year. I withdrew it right away and left 0 in my bank. A few days later I was a grand overdrawn on a solo basic bank account so had to pay the money back in. Just as well I never spent it

did you apply for any other cards around the same time and didn't hear back, if you put BT details on application it can be automatic if approved
  • Nope...

Virgin Card was last one I applied for back in February and even then didn't undertake any BTs for awhile...

MBNA/Virgin are aware of the problem and are (attempting to) recalling the extra funds.
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
