is there anyway of finding out if a buyer has another account?

5562pauls (if i cant put the buyer id here please amend and accept my apologies). he is my NPB and im just wondering if he bid on my item just so he could sell his own under another name with no intention of buying mine.

just a theory i have.

i could be wrong but i cant see why someone who registered 5 days before the auctin ended, bid almost immediately after joining and i havent heard a peep from them since. i wouldnt have a clue who else to look at tbh selling on there. i know its nly 99p + postage but its the principle of the blooming thing.

I had a look at what I could find on your bidder. He has bid on 4 items and won 2 items. Yours was the first, then he won similar Alton Towers discount tickets a few days later.

I wonder if, as he's new to eBay, he didn't realise that you can put items on your watching list and that you don't have to bid on similar items at the same time. I bet he's done that and then won both auctions, and is trying to ignore yours.

I found this info by going to MyEBay, clicking on 'search for items' (bottom left) then clicking on 'items by bidder' (or something like that). You can then put in his ID and see what he's been bidding on.

I also checked his ID History (click on ID History when looking at his feedback page) and there are no other connected accounts - unless he's clever at hiding them.

I wonder if he has not properly registered his email address, so that when you think you are contacting him it's not actually reaching him. Maybe he'll just let the account go dormant having made bidding mistakes - so I think you should file a NPB in due course.

Sorry if this is stuff you already know, but just trying to help as best I can!

cheeky git! ebay have responded to my NPB to say he's told them he has paid already for the item. no he blooming well hasnt.

do i leave good feedback now or wait untgil its left for me? i think i should leave it now but would like to know what others think.

also as a goodwill gesture im sending him another book of tickets for nowt.

Glad you were not ripped off after all!



I think you should wait until he leaves his, hopefully as he's a newbie to ebay he'll think the NBP contact is fairly normal (!) and if you've followed this with an apologetic email he should be happy once he gets his tickets.

Do make sure that you draw attention to the fact that you've enclosed extra tickets (by email or on a slip of paper in the envelope thanking him for the sale). Sounds silly but I know when I receive things I've bought (mostly coupons, so similar paper-based small items to yours) I put them away so quickly it's only later that I might notice, if at all, that a seller has included a freebie extra!

As he has no feedback he should be quite keen to get a positive from you, so encourage him to leave his feedback first and it should be fine, I hope!

i still feel foolish but hey ho im sure other sellers have had this happen.

i blame sleep deprivation now that minkmonkmoo (aka chops) has started waking again at night.
