Bt evening and weekend calls plan

My daughter had a new phone line when she moved into her new build last October. She agreed to the 12 month contract to get free calls at the weekend and evenings.
She pays monthly by whole bill DD. This month's bill looked wrong to her (too high) so I've looked at it. They have started charging her £2.95 for the weekend/evening package. As far as she knows she hasn't had an "invitation" to extend her contract by another 12 months and it looks like she is now on a monthly contract.
As she hardly uses the phone (her total calls bill in the previous 12 months averaged £1.50-all for daytime/mobile calls) what is the best solution ? ?Sign up with BT for the rolling plan? Or move her calls package to another provider?
