should I go with BT?

I am moving in to a new property and BT have confirmed that there is an existing line that I can take over, so there will be no connection charge. However, I will have to sign up to a 12 month contract @ £11.25 per month. Comparing this to other landlines on offer @ around £9.50 per month, I wanted to understand what could be the negatives of not signing a contract with BT.
I only need the line to get O2 broadband & incoming calls. I use mobiles for all outgoing calls.
1. Will there be any problems in getting O2 broadband on madasafish/primus landline?
2. If I decide to move away from madasafish/primus to BT, will BT charge me a £123 reconnection fee?
3. Apart from potential customer service/billing issues, can someone advise what could be the negatives of getting a madasafish/primus saver landlines? Both are approx. £2 cheaper than bt. Furthermore, madasafish does not even tie up in a 12 month contract.
I am inclined towards madasafish at the moment purely because it is a 1 month rolling contract.
cheers, pksaraf

Seems relatively straight forward so I will attempt to
. If you set up a line with Primus or Madasafish and then wish to transfer your line to BT as long as the line as still active and there is no damaged equipment there will be no connection charge. With regards to O2 I believe you may need a BT line you might have to contact O2 with regards to that. In terms of the service you may gain or lose with each provider I couldn't comment, but a 1 month rolling contract seems good.

thanks for your reply mrtom21. As I understand from previous posts, madasafish/primus etc use the same BT lines so I should still be able to get O2 broadband. Someone correct me if I am wrong?0

You may not be able to get O2 on a MAAF/Primus line rental if the service is LLU. Don't see why the 12m contract is an issue, as you will have to do the same to join O2. If you do migrate back to BT they will not charge you.
Since call tariff is not an issue for you, the only difference is the line rental cost, however if you use the free weekend and evening calls that you get included with BT anyway, you can probably claw that back.
PS: only sign up for the O2 LLU package, do not take the Access package. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
ohh really? I thought I could take LLU packages on maaf/primus! Now that changes everything.
I am definitely going for the LLU package only, i know the problems with access :-)0 -

It's a grey area, you would need to check with the relevant phone co to be sure (but you might not get a straight answer, since they'd be doing themselves out of business). If the company you take line rental from is LLU on the exchange, then you can't get your broadband from another supplier. If the line remains with BT (even though you pay line rental to AN Other) then you can.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
