Effect of postal strike on response

Hi
I sent in my first stage letter 8 weeks ago and was told that I would get a response by 29th October (tomorrow!). However there's more strike action due tomorrow. Should I ring to see if they've posted a reply yet or do I just leave it until after the 29th and then write back saying I've had no response so will go direct to the Financial Ombudsman? Difficult to know how delayed any possible response may have been or how much lee-way to give them...
Thanks.

Its very difficult on this one as i think that alot of companies will hide behind this excuse! I would say give it one more week and it no reply then go to the FOS.good luck0

It may help in your decision here by ringing to ask if they have addressed your complaint yet and sent it out. If they have not then you still have the option of the Ombudman. If they say they have then it should not be too long hopefully to receive it.0

Thanks. Think a phone call may be best bet. Don't want them using the strike as an excuse as mentioned. These people will try anything!0
