Hi My previous tenant has left whilst owning me 2.5K. I have an address for him and I would like to take him to court. Does anyone know what forms I need to fill in? And what route I should follow? Thanks BlahBob

I would speak to the local county court. they are usually very helpful. It'll be under the small claims procedure. CAB would be able to help, albeit they are overbooked at present.0

Are you a member of a landlord's association? If not join one as you will get tons of advice on how to correctly proceed.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Landlordzone is a great resource for landlords and should have a section on how to take a tenant to court for arrears.0

Getting your 2.5k will be harder than you think! My questions are, why did you leave it until he was in for so much?. Is this person on benefits? This person sounds like he has no permanent abode, court papers may well be returned to sender. Did you not get a deposit?
Before you go suing a 'Man of Straw' think very carefully.

Its a long story, stopping about 1 week short of an eviction court hearing before he moved out. Now I have to set up a hearing for unpaid rent. I am aware of the straw man issues, however I think I should peruse him out of principle.0
