Ive moved several times since taking this out it was for only while i worked at sainsburys and was told if i left it would be closed or i would have to transfer it. It was a stakeholder pension, to be honest i havent a clue when it comes to pensions.
Will see if i can remember who it was with and call them

I currently, well its being cancelled now but had a DMP with CCCS and i was struggling to make the payments as twice now my income has come down. I sent budgeting letters to each creditor and one got in touch with me and suggested i visited CAB.
I am now currently applying for a DRO. I have been made aware of all the pitfalls and upsides of this and im happy to go ahead that is till this morning.
I called the CCCS and informed them of what was happening and to say the least the woman i spoke to wasnt very understanding of my situation, but then said she doesnt think i would be approved because of my age and working life left. Now i dont know if this is right.
I qualify for the DRO i have completed the forms and had £50 or less, debts under £15k, have no assets over £300 etc .
I cant see as im 28 why this would make a difference? I am a single parent and a few years back wasnt in this position. My daughter wont be starting school for over a year yet. So if i started work the cost implications and benefit losses i'd still be in the same boat.
Does anyone maybe in a similar position have one or know if there is any truth in this?
Thanks Tracey
Hi Tracey
There are no age restrictions on a DRO. Would it be possible send for you to send me a PM with your client reference number so that we can look into this for you.
Sarah
I am a Debt Counsellor that works for the CCCS and have specific permission from Martin, to post on these boards to try and help those in debt. Read more information on the CCCS and what it does in the Debt Problems: What to do and where to get help article.
CCCS is a registered charity, and there is no charge whatsoever for any of the services we provide to our clients. We take great pride in offering first class help and advice, but we only offer this where we have been able to fully explore and understand your circumstances with you. We want to help you understand these choices and their possible implications but not make them for you.

One was not approved because a £250 unknown debt on their experian report put them over the 15k threshold, ( experian is always checked so get your report and see if it is correct, it was an error by o2 in this clients case but client still lost £90 and had to pay again)
We have done around 30 - all approved so far.
I agree - always check Experian0 -
Im sure im under the 15k mark as i have just under 13k debts and i dont think i could miss 2k's worth of debt but you never know! Ive spoken with my CAB advisor this morning and she said that i was told rubbish and if i didn't want to go through with it i didnt have to but i meet all the criteria basicly just waiting for the check to come back ok.
Im still worried about this pension business though. It wouldnt make a difference to my income i wouldn't be able to cash it in and im sure i only paid in to it for 6 months nearly 10 years ago at about 20 per month. Do you think this could be traced? Searched all paper work and i have no records of it.

Hi Tracy
We have done 445 applications in the 1st 4 months and only 1 refused!
Re checking pensions you can ring HMRC Pension Tracing Service on 0845-600-2537 who will advise you whether you have paid into a scheme. If you have then ring HMRC contracted-out pension section on 0845-915-0150 and they will tell you who it is with.
Hope this helps and do go ahead with a DRO if that's your best option and dont worry what others say.0 -
And more from The Pensions Advisory Service:

Thanks i will give them a call tomorrow, im sure it will be worth nothing but best check. When is states you have no assets over £300 does that mean items over £300 or collectively everything i own? Not that i have anything of value just checking.0
