budgie advice trying to tame him/her

hello all, yesterday we brought a gorgeous blue budgie for our boys, i have never had a budgie so i would be greatful for any advice please. i have yesterday and today put my hand into the cage to start to tame him/her yesterday he didn't really move much at all (i expected that as new home etc) but today kept my hand…

I remember when we got a budgie when I was a child, the lady in the vet said it's important to tame them before they reach 9 weeks old, otherwise it's harder after that point.

I don't know how true that is - we never got our budgie tame but then maybe we needed to be with him 24/7 and we were only handling him in the evenings when we were home.
