Angry angry angry

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

oh im raging..................

posted up last night saying that a&l were taking forever to issue my cheque for PPI payments. I explained that i had been in a trust deed and they were one of the companies included in it.

Yesterday I received a telephone call from them which I unfortunately missed, so called them back this morning and to my digust they have changed their minds in such that the amount they wrote to me with a "full and final settlement figure" of £1673.54 they have now carried out a routine review of the account and cheque to be paid and have decided that they only owe me £457.77.

How can they do this???? I told them they cant do this and Im going to the FOS.

Im so angry.

Can anyone please advise if they can do this or not.
thanks

    Hi hun
    I'm Shocked they have done this....:eek:, you mentioned something about this yesterday didn't you? and I said they should not do this, as they also provided this in writing to you as well.

    Well in this case then yes it may be a good idea to contact the FOS first by ringing them, explaining what have happened here and ask if they are able to write to them on your behalf, also tell them you have the letters if they require copies of them.;)

    Wishing you luck.

    thanks for your reply. I just had a feeling last night that that was what they were going to say.

    The thing is the loan for for 5 years and I basically only paid up until I entered into the trust deed, which is fair enough I should only get back what I paid, but surely because they have sent me a full and final settlement then they should oblige with that.

    The lady on the phone stated that the original person who calculated the PPI to be paid back to me, made an error, I promptly told them thats their fault not mine.

    I will phone FOS tomorrow. I hope they can help?

    I agree with you, and its not your fault, they should have made sure on this before sending these letters out in the first place.
    Good luck with the FOS tomorrow, please keep us posted.;)
