One wheel on a yellow line, whole car in a bay

Hello
I'm in Scotland. My street has permit parking and I have a permit for the area. The street has a big line of parking space (not individual bays) then a single yellow line for the rest of the street.
I came home and everywhere was full except the last bit of the parking bay. I parked up, right close to the guy in front and my back wheel ONLY (none of the body in front of the wheel) was on the single yellow
I walk past the car all th time and it was fine, on about day 3 of it being there it got a ticket. Is this appealable? I genuinely didnt thing it was wrong, but am willing to stand corrected. I'm not causing any trouble, the back wheel doesnt block anything and I'm 95% in the parking area. Can I appeal?
Cheers

You are technically in breach if *any part* of the car is over the yellow line, the wheels are not relevant in this case.0

I concur with Mark and with one wheel on the contravention is certain. Can't even imagine a De minimis claim.
Thread title is an obvious contradiction. Surely it should be 'Whole car was in the bay except it wasn't'.0 -

Although im in England I appealed for my "contravention" for having a wheel on a dub yello and my appeal was successful http://s148.photobucket.com/albums/s13/muckychimney/?action=view¤t=NPASappeal1edit.jpg

Take a look at the bay markings are they correct ? also are the yellow line terminations correct ? what type of bay is it ? photos a distinct advantage dont just give up look at all avenues of appeal firstYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
