    1. Hands like sandpaper after huge washing-up. Will work lovely lavender cream in[ex last NZ trip, bought in Whole Earth place along Tennyson Street] after four more pleasures.

    2. Cette vaisselle arises from all things currently progressing to state of num@Mark4, comprising [a] 20"sq dish and 16" sq dish of h-g Raspberry&Ground Almond Clafouti[w8rs recette, upped by &, using 8 eggs+1.2l various forms of cream-using up clotted, brandied, double, single and fromage frais ], [c] lasagne in my lovely old thick 16"x24" earthenware dish, bought in France in 1974....gosh, about this time of year, too! from this little quincaillerie in La Farlède, my first village.

I always like cooking something in this one: the Proust/madeleines process kicks right in, so there I am, back again.

    3. Starving, so will shortly have the other Heston Prawns in Rose Marie Mayonnaise, rtc 39p with slice of h/m grainy bread, and an endive. Maybe un coup de rosÉ, left from the lasagne brew[avec h-g tom concentrate, ditto rosemary, h-m pesto, h-g oregano, ton of garlic, one finely qtrd carotte. Always work around this format, but MUST include une carotte, as learnt from great provençal chef] It all=a lots used up version ce soir, for both courses.
But every time I say 'and maybe un petit coup de vin', I never do.

    4. Looking forward to book and bed.

    5. Chill wind all day and couldn't get warm for long time, despite much yellow thing, so was glad of car+sun on face behind glass as I drove to w8rs, whose good mince was >£2 cheaper per kg than Mr T's.
Was stunned enough that I lacked 3 staples of lasagne - milk[well, that's Lent atm], lasagne sheets, ground beef[I always have loads of all these things. Not today. Still can't work out why]

Didn't get in to start cooking till gone Blue Tit[I'm right into doing that all the time now] but it can't be done tomorrow, with funeral early afternoon, then the shared dinner. We say Goodbye to the gifted brother of the gifted man we lost very recently.

Some people face such huge obstacles. Safe harbours to all who need quieter times, peaceful hearts, no night horrors.

Whoops, my nose says 'Follow me....' Je le suis[it's a funny 1st person pres. conjugation, that one.]
    ###
Just the last clafouti to come out now. Took tea outside - freezing night - diamond-sharp full moon and stars. Worth more than a look if you're still up.

CCP I'd forgotten about the poem, hope that and the car sticker don't put your DSis off!

A quick 5 as I fell asleep and missed the end of the mystery - now I'll never know whodunit - but I have a very good idea :)

    1. nsd/npd
    2. Went to a garden centre with a friend, was trying to load some sacks of compost onto the trolley when a young lad who was shopping with an older lady (perhaps his mother) came up and helped. He also suddenly appeared as we were loading them into her car. People are very kind :)
    3. Started to plant the bedding and baskets when neighbour's DD asked if I was going to finish today as she'd like to help tomorrow, so I've left plenty for us to do together
    4. Phoned the HA to enquire about having lever taps put in the bathroom - they were put in the kitchen when it was refurbished - they got back to me within an hour and are coming to do it tomorrow. Excellent service!
    5. The robin is back :). It's in a little less danger than last year when Ying and Yang patrolled the area so I hope it wlll stay, and maybe even be brave enough come come off the wall and into the garden

    Sweet dreams :)
  • BoP requires no support act. BoPsie does all the hard work.

Ooops bin MIA. But sorting out the yellow thing and putah problemo.

5 Putah problemo. No boost power. Where is the insurance!

4 Jam disaster. BoPsie got toast down, or crumpet, BoP loves a decent buttered up crumpet, drops the jam jar.

3 Decent crumpet with marmite instead

2 Day we have to dump BoPsie at the hospital for her cheeks. Note serious, but living with BoP has ...

    1 Seems I need a clean sweep!

Rite, all think now YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW YELLOWthere, sorted!

    Monday's pleasures....

    1. Sunshine :)
    2. DD had a brilliant time at her science club - all day :) Back on Wednesday for more sleuthing fun!
    3. Instead of playing cards/backgammon after dinner, we went up to my bed for cuddles and 'tell me about when I was a baby' chats :)
    4. Got some uni work done...(but am in my study again today!)
    5. Laughed at the Manchester restaurant programme where 2 up themselves chefs are attempting to be Hestonesque. Loved it when one of them had to cook for their hotel's staff, 99% of whom came out with very down to earth appraisals :)
    6. My very cheap but very lovely ginormous napkins arrived - sharing with the folks.
    7. Have decided not to chase up the solicitor handling the flat purchase - the longer it takes, the better really, as it means I won't be paying bills until we're nearly ready to move in!
    8. Have found some nice schools nearby to apply for jobs. Wish me luck, especially for the Catholic primary, it sounds lovely :)
    9. NSD

    Afternoon

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. More washing dried on the line the washing basket is empty again for today anyway
    2. Lovely chat with DD on the phone she is having a great time at parents and enjoyed a night away in Blackpool with my mum, her sister and sisters gd. I am trying to count this as a positive as I don't see eye to eye with DM's sister and she causes untold grief which often upsets DD but they had a nice time so will focus on that and not on what an old witch she is :o
    3. Booked train tickets to join DD at parents over easter weekend, looking forward to hearing Northern accents for a few days and enjoying the fresh air.
    4. Changes are starting to happen at work but haven't had the meeting yet but feel comfortable having looked at our finances that things will fine.
    5. As DD away having yummy lunches as have DD sized portion of dinner left most days

Hugs to all who need them
  • BoPsie rescued from the hospital. She is just being a BoPsie!

Miffed as to why the transit ambulance, no only carrying the day visitors so not a blue light, decided to park at 90 degrees to everyone and nearly block me in as I dropped BoPsie off, when there was room behind so he old do the same. Maybe they need extra cash for parking! BoP spun his motor out in one! No patience was endangered during the burning of the rubber!

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

DH and I are going away tonight (using Avios points :D), so won't be around until next week. Thought I'd give you the pleasures I've had today so far though.

    1) Started with a "to do" list of 14 things. Down to the final two. :j

    2) Ironing mountain is FINISHED! :j :j :j Washing all up to date too - only for it to restart next week, but hey ho!

    3) Planning for the first week back at school is DONE and sent off to the HT.

    4) NSD and NPD so far....

    5) Booked my car in to a new garage for a service at the end of this month. Well, new-to-me and recommended by others. Lovely chap at the end of the phone, who didn't make me feel like a fool. Will hopefully be able to say "ya boo sucks" to the other garage I've used in the past when they try to sell me a service (car still under manufacturer's 3yr warranty period so have to use one of their approved centres), who have been less than helpful.

    6) Managed to get a deal on accommodation for the night before my 10k run towards the end of May. :j

    7) Handbag has been purged of all the receipts. Quite a few from a while ago.

    8) Bed sheets have been changed so we'll have lovely sheets to sink into on our return from our break away! :j

Have a good few days. Don't miss me too much! :D

VickyA - have a lovely holiday!

    1) Lots of yellow stuff, although not as warm as it looked - I wished I'd taken a coat to work with me. smiley-sad018.gif

    2) My second counselling session was marginally more useful than the first, if only for the following exchange:

Counsellor: Now, say that your MOT was due...
Me: Oh! My MOT is due - thanks for reminding me!
    Counsellor: No problem :undecided
    :rotfl:

    3) Bought something nice for dinner, then realised when I got home that I'd left it at work. A quick dig through the freezer found an alternative and means I'm not going to give in to the temptation to have a takeaway.

    4) Did some studying at work this afternoon, so I can spend the evening doing something more interesting. :D

Can't think of a #5 this evening. :undecided Never mind - if anyone wants me I'm wading my way through Game of Thrones on my kindle - with seven books to get through I may be some time!
Back after a very long break!

    Bon voyage VickyA x

    1. Sunshine

    2. Have just found some bang up to date research for my languages essay - now, if only it could write the essay for me!

    3. My car has been fixed and got through its MOT. Phew!

    4. Had the afternoon to myself to study in the sunshine without being disturbed or feeling guilty that I wasn't entertaining DD.

    5. Have been given the number of a carpenter who will hopefully quote to build shelving for the flat.
