Where to eat in London

I'm looking for a cheap romantic restaurant(not a chain), in London, prefably around Waterloo and Westminster.

Am looking to spend around 15 pounds per person, but don't want it to be so stuffy and posh, not into getting dressed up either to eat there.

Not asking for much am I lol.

Definately not stuffy or posh- but v nice all the same! HIGHLY recommended

£15 per person? Are you having a laugh? You'll just about get a hotdog off one of the illegal street vendors.

hey, try med kitchen cambridge circus on the toptable 3 course offer & bellini, might be just what youre looking for I think, its really good value for money.Also, not really romantic, but soo cheap is roadhouse at covent garden with 50% off on toptable.Its got happy hour til 730 daily and the cocktails are delicious.You could also check the cheap east on the time out website, there are loads.
If you like Thai, go to mango tree with 50% off on toptable, shd be roughly in your range

Would highly recommend Bumbles restaurant near Leicester Square tube. They do 3 courses for £10 or £20 dependant which menu you pick and the food and service was amazing - we went last weekend. Also bottles of wine are very reasonable. They are rated 3rd on Tripadvisors ratings.

we went to bumbles on wednesday lunchtime after seeing changing of the guard and before our journey home and it was lovely. We walked to victoria tube station which was only about 5 minutes walk so very convenient. the starters were either cauliflower soup, deep fried cuttlefish on a bed of crispy seaweed with a lovely hollondaise type sauce and a pear, fennel and rocket salad which I had which was gorgeous. they brought a lovely selection of bread and butter which was free. the mains were pork loin on a bed of savoy cabbage and caramelised apple (it was actually a pork chop with beautifully crisp crackling)m fish and three times cooked chips or some pasta dish with lamb and sweetbreads (none of us had that!). Dessert was either lemon tart (tiny piece and £1 supplement) vanilla icecream or cheese board (supplement). My OH booked a table I think through square meal and we got a lovely table right in the window. The basement looked a bit dismal so might be worth booking a table. the other restaurant I can thoroughly recommend is the Little French Restaurant which is very near Earls court tube station - 3 courses for £9.95 (we went there last monday evening) starters were french onion soup - a really tasty salmon dish with beautifully dressed salad, smoked chicken and mushroom thing in pastry, leek and potato soup can't remember what OH had. Mains were chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms, lamb wellington, coq au vin, salmon - desserts were tiramisu, chocolate mousse, sorbet - again it was absolutely gorgeous. I got these 2 off tripadviser before we went and was going to post them but thought they were in the wrong area. Opposite the little french restaurant is a great pub called the king's head - it's quite dark but with loads of fairy lights and comfy sofas but we went in with our 2 kids and it was fine. Actually the french restaurant was pretty dark as well but it made it atmospheric. It said on the menu that you couldn't use credit cards and when we asked this was if you were having the 9.95 cheapy meal and we should have paid cash but they allowed us to pay by debit card as we didn't know. We also had a great tasty good value chines in chinatown on gerrard street called Harbour city which was recommended in our library book. 4 of us had a mixture of severa dim sum duck with pancakes and sweet and sour chicken plus rice and 2 chinese bears and 4 cans of coke for £50 - brilliant value.

Most top restaurants do a pre theatre meal that is really nice for a slither of the usual priice, look on squaremeal for restaurant ideas and then checkout the restaurant website. e.g. You can have a 2 course meal at Ramsey's Foxtrot Oscar for £15, much better than going to a chain like Nandos or Pizza Express

Noooo Foxtrot Oscar is awful!

I wonder if you missed a zero off your thing and mean £150...because for £15 you are talking either nasty or local (which isnt really arond westminster) - if you want to go as far as Victoria I know a few 'decent' places where you might get one course for £10-15...

but it does cost about 30 for 2 with the 10 pound menu as there is a 12.5 tip

We had the limon tart extra £1 each and sparkling water


but fantastic food we booked the £10 one thru toptable but we had to ask for the menu when we went in as it wasn't immediately offered
