    Well OH has had a mobile phone clearout and we put them on Mopay who will pay £36.60 for 4, which I'm pleased about!

    Am also in the middle of putting loads and loads of stuff on Ebay, so hopefully will generate some money there.

    Have found a new moneyback website called freefivers (has anyone used this one?), so have been looking on there too.

    Off to OHs parents tomorrow for lunch and apparently there is a whole home-made chocolate sponge cake waiting for us which I love!!

    So not bad today at all!

    Well I have been fruit and veg shopping down the market this afternoon and then nipped into Sainsburys to pick up those few items I couldn't get.

    I stuck to my list as if my life depended on it and managed to spend a few pence over £20 which is fantastic for me! Having planned my meals for the week, it was so much easier to shop when you know what you need and not just a quick 'ooooooh that looks nice.... so does that...' and chucking it in the trolley...

    So once I have recovered... I shall be bulk cooking a lasagne and shepherds pie. How's that for DFW?!

    Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

    Took a shopping list to the supermarket and stuck to it. I included a new bottle of Stardrops because although I've got a bit left in my current bottle, I'd be mortified to run out!

    DFW stuff for later will include using my slow cooker to make chilli for tomorrow and having the last of the soup I made this week for my tea.

    Also did a compost recce (!) as I plan to grow my own herbs but need to know where to get the cheapest vital ingredients from first! :rotfl:
    :eek: What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:

  • Hi everyone,

    Thanks LA for starting this thread - I was just thinking what a good DFW day I was having!

    I went to sell at a car boot sale this morning - oh well, it was a bit rubbish and only made £21.55 but there's another one next week and all the stuff is packed in the car so not to worry.

    I have downloaded some free podcasts as I'm getting bored of my music on my LONG commute to work (also one of my goals for the week on DFW!)

    I have sorted out my personal and our joint finances and sorted out what needs to go where and when.

    I have cleaned the kitchen (well washed the dishes!)

    We let the cats out for the first time and they must love us as they came home! (Okay, not strictly DFW news, but my news nonetheless!)

    Am babysitting tonight for neighbours - hopefully £20 - for sitting watching their tv and drinking their tea!

    Yesterday 7 eBay items finished in sales - yay! I have packaged them all up, just waiting for people to pay (grrrr)

    Am planning a grocery shop tomorrow, a good tidy and clean, to do some weeding the garden and go to watch my OH play an acoustic session in our local bookstore - a good weekend!

    scottishspendaholic x
    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83

    I went to Lidl and then Tesco for the bits I couldn't get in Lidl - in the rain (when I could've just gone to Tesco for the lot)! Was having a nose at the person's shopping on the next checkout and in a full-to-the-top trolley I only noticed one unbranded item - definitely not a DFW!

    I'm also a Stardrops convert (got mine in Home Bargains - about 68p) and I just love the smell of it.

    Also, had my first dabble with Freecycle today, have offered something and posted a wanted ad so fingers crossed I'll be successful!

    Hi,

    Listed about 10 items on Amazon, going to list more on Ebay later. Was slightly not DFW by buying some things off EBay, but they are budgeted for birthday presents so don't feel too bad. Determined to put enough on there to cover the bought items at least :)

    Going to have pasta with sauce that has been languishing at the back of the cupboard for ages. Trying a storecupboard challenge this week. Also need to do a big pan of veggies before they turn!

    well we went to a closing down sale of a sports shop to get some golf balls... for the boyfriend, got 15 for £3. bargain apparently!
    I then went to tesco and did my shopping, budgeted £40 but only ended up spending £35 (also had £9.50 worth of clubcard vouchers)

    Got some mince so that I can make some more spag bol to freeze for the week!
