Cheaper Tickets?? Please help

Do not know if anyone can help me on this one, I have been online for a nuber of hours tonight but do not seem to be getting anywhere,

Four of us need to travel from Taunton to Waterloo (Mersyside) on Friday 13th November and return on Monday 16th November (we are all adults)

The cheapest ticket for a return is approx £80. I have amended the search to go from Taunton to Liverpool Lime Street in the hope that it may show an advanced fair, but still none are showing.

If it is any help, one is 25, but does not seem to make much difference buying a young persons railcard to the overall price and one of the other people traveling has a forces rail card.

I have searched the net for promotional codes but again cant find anything that makes a difference, again, does not seem to make a difference searching by single tickets as suppost to return.

IF anyone has any ideas I would apprichiate this as I dont really fancy driving it although does not seem I am going to have any choice but to do so.

On outward leg, try splitting tickets at Bristol Temple Meads, Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street.

Advance Singles are available from Taunton to Bristol TM at £8.00 (or £5.30 with Railcard).
Advance Singles are available from Bristol TM to Birmingham NS at £15.50 (or £10.25 with Railcard).
Advance Singles are available from Birmingham NS to Liverpool LS at £9.00 (or £5.95 with Railcard).
An Anytime Day Single from Liverpool LS to Waterloo Mersey costs £2.25 (£1.50 with Railcard).

On return leg, try splitting tickets at Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street.

An Anytime Day Single from Waterloo Mersey to Liverpool LS costs £2.25 (£1.50 with Railcard).
Advance Singles are available from Liverpool LS to Birmingham NS at £9.00 (or £5.95 with Railcard).
Advance Singles are available from Birmingham NS to Taunton at £9.50 (or £6.25 with Railcard).

So total return fare = £55.50, or £36.70 with a railcard.
That compare favourably with a Off Peak Return at £85.90 (56.70 with Railcard).
