Was looking in control panel and noticed I had Java Control Panel installed there, the properties say it was only installed last week, I certainly dont remember installing it. Can anyone tell me what it is? I use Firefox mostly as my browser, and also use Winpatrol. Before Java installed, when i used to check the cookies in Winpatrol, there were none, but now theres loads, is it a spyware program, should i delete it? Thanks for any help.

Java is a programming language. It's often used for small applets on websites (although it's going out of fashion as Flash becomes more powerful).
It's not spyware, you'll need it to use Jave applets or software.0 -
For example... The ADSLGuide speed checker comes to mind, that uses java to to test your internet speed
Thanks Tom :-)0
