Thanks for that - we let our cat have a nibble on the feathers but we were there watching but I did see him try to have a go on the thread so whipped it away from him.

Just goes to show you have to be careful :o
  • We have to limit our girl kitten's time with her bird because she just gets too mental, she loves that thing more than she loves any of us! I actually have two kittens but he doesn't get a look in, as far as she is concerned it's her bird and if he goes anywhere near she growls and hisses but he is used to her being the boss anyway ;)

I got this for my cat and she doesn't like it at all. She much prefers the jungle teaser from Pets at Home! She also ignores the laser toy, although next door's cat goes mental over it.
  • Bought one of these on Saturday for my boy it arrived yesterday. It was meant to be saved for a xmas pressie but I gave it a quick trial run and he loves it!!! Usually with dangly toys he loses interest in a few minutes but he played with this for ages, and after a put it away I got a few vocals from him enquiring after it :D

Also bought another for my boyfriend's cats, but he hasn't had the chance to test it out with them. That's going to be one mad kitty play session, there are three of them and one da bird!

I'm well MSE today! I have just made mt own "bird" with a long bendy cane, must be about 4-5 lon gand curved and flexible, it was growing in my bamboo clump until a few moths ago. Long length of dark brown linen thread attached and a newspaper bow like one you would make for a kite tied onto the end of that. They love it!
The paper will but is easily replaced or I might upgrade to a bit of an old feather boa I think I still have. I reckon I have afew peacock feather eyes in the roofspace from some old art project too. They miht do
    .Totally free toy!

  • Sorry for resurrecting a thread but I got Lily a Da Bird yesterday and from the second I got it out of the packet she went absolutely crazy for it!! She's spent all of this morning crying at the cupboard where I put it away asking for me to get it out again! I can't believe how mental she went.

So pleased it was worth the outlay Mellymeep. :T

Noah's finally arrived this morning (Purrs shop has had a run on them, possibly due to us lot?) and he hid under the sofa!! :o After a while he started slapping Da Bird down with one paw as it 'flew' past but backed off if came too close. Waited until Noah had emerged to try again and he was leaping around like a kitten, doing twists in mid-air! :rotfl:

Our cat still loves it, we tend to leave it a day or two as he got a bit fed up with it when we played with him every day. He is still a bit lazy though as he lays on the floor and tries to catch it from there, but we still managed to get him jumping a bit!
