Procssor 2800+ 801mhz 1.00Gb Ram
?
Did you mean 2801mhz and miss out the 2? Or is it really running at 801mhz
But even if it is 801mhz, with 1Gb of RAM it should still be pretty quick and usable
Suggest backing up all your data, formatting the hard drive and reinstalling windows.
Upgrading the processor won't make much difference, your motherboard won't accept much better anyway and its not the lack of processing power causing the problem, its likely to be a load of spyware and the fact Windows is all cluttered up, a fresh install will do wonders.0 -
definetly 801mhz i did a reinstall about a week ago but problems still there0

Procssor 2800+ 801mhz 1.00Gb Ram
will try what you suggested. Thanks again
I read this as
Process: 2800+
RAM: 801 Mhz 1.00 GB
Processor could be an AMD Semprom, the + in the name strongly suggests AMD at least as the manufacturer0 -
I'm with mobeer on this one. It looks like the processor is the AMD Sempron 2800+ which is reported as a 2.0 Gigahertz proc.
Possibly it's 1Gb of DDR2 RAM running on 800(801)Mhz FSB?0 -
uninstall zonealarm, askbar, windows desktop search, adaware, spybot, aol stuff, google toolbar, defender, one by one until it improves. Try avast instead of pc tools av - lot of stuff on there considering it was reinstalled recently, it's not a processor or ram problem, it's software (a bad bit of disk could cause it, but it's far more likely to be software). Freshly installed xp should boot in 45 secs or less.!!
