Can I SAR my Solicitor?

Thanks for reply Daisy, so just write a letter saying I want a copy of my file? No £10 needed?Kavanne

Exactly what I said....
No you do not need to pay anything. It is your file. You have (presumably) paid for it. The solicitors have the right to remove internal notes, etc, but you are entitled to the file itself.0 -
I'd like to SAR the solicitor I used for conveyancing to get all the info in the file he holds so I can go to another solicitor for my future needs.
If I SAR them are they bound by the rules so would have to give me everything? Many thanks
The SAR would only cover notes stored in an electronic form. Most Solicitors only keep 'hard' files for obvious reasons.
