Need help choosing a bank...

Fyi, I setup 2 vantage accounts today. Though the chap wanted to know in detail why I wanted two vantage accounts and stipulated that I was after the interest only....he also wanted to know how I intended to meet the £1000 quoter on each account with my salary after my mortage. I could be wrong, but didn't expect them to ask so many questions.
Anyhow, my debit cards and internet banking details should be here by next saturday If I'm lucky...
MAny thanks for the help.0 -

The bank has the right to ask questions about why you want the bank account(s), and other stuff. I have those questions too when opening a bank account. They will still open it anyway. They ask questions, so that they will know more about you, spemding patterns, etc... (basically a customer profile). Sometimes the other questions can mean that the bank staff to sell you some more things (e.g. savings, insurance, loans, etc...).
I think your debit cards and internet banking details will arrive within 5 working days. Usually the PIN arrives first, then the debit card, and lastly the online banking details.0 -
Yes thats fair enough. He did mention that he was surprised that the system didnt give me the option of a credit card., I didn't want one but he said I should have met the criteria.0

You'll have to forgive my ignorance (I'm new to this banking stuff, hence why I have a wad of cash and no interest), but if I had 3 Vantage accounts, would that mean I had 3 debit cards and 3 seperate bank details? Or would I just have the one debit card and access the other two accounts via online banking?
No you can opt in or out for cheque books/cards for each account. I have 5 (opened before the lmit of 3 was imposed) and just 1 card. Access via internet (rarely - don't need to!)
5 standing orders circulates £1K around them all once per month. No mouse clicks, no nothing. Just 4%.0 -
For anyone thinking of getting a Vantage account...well I went into the branch on saturday, and today (tuesday) both my cards and details have arrived. So I'm ready to go, fantastic. I have already transferred most of money from my old bank to my vantages. On a final note, I think its worth mentioning you can manage all your accounts from the one set of credentials (saves you logging in and out to check each account).
