Just been but had all the kids with me so my head was spinning. 69p for tomatoes, green beans, kiwi, oranges and green apples. There may have been something else but baking pots and maris pipers were usual price so it wasnt them.
That's odd because in my local one (Edinburgh) the tomatoes were 39p yesterday.

    Sneaky Aldi!

oooh maybe it was 39p? I'm all of a dither now as 69p does seem like a lot for some of that stuff. Sorry, I'm no help today.

You're probably right to be honest, I was just wondering if they had put the price up but made it look like a good deal!

Would be 69p for that - no way they would have oranges at 39p but again some of those don't seem to be great 'reductions'

Yes, but those were their cheapo tomatoes. Perhaps these are the more expensive vine tomatoes?

Update: I can confrim that they are vine tomatoes, along with Granny Smith apples & Estima potatoes (in my store at least).

  • We had our first visit to Aldi yesterday - couldn't believe the price of bread - 69p or 79p per loaf (although not as good as Farmfoods' 2 for £1). The best bargain we found though was free-range chickens for £4.99! Free-range eggs were a good price too (I think 99p for 6). Was disappointed that they don't take credit cards though, and that you have to pay for a carrier bag, but we'll know for next time. Toilet roll was cheap at £1.89 for 4 quilted rolls (not as good as Andrex quilted that we normally have but good enough) but still not as cheap as Farmfoods.....

They do not take C Cards as the card companies take about 4% commission.

There is no such thing as a free carrier bag, they all have to be paid for one way or the other.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
