Parsnip and apple soup is delicious. I too shall be looking for veg for soups on Saturday when I do my first shop of the month, and brussels with bits of bacon and smothered in a thick cheese and black pepper sauce sound like a decent Saturday night savoury meal.Onions I will buy as well as peeled diced and frozen they will keep me more than happy this winter.Leek and tattie soup is nice and warming as well I grate a little nutmeg into mine to give it a bit of a boost. A real winner this time for winter veg I think

The Aldi I was in yesterday had 4 baking potatoes for 45p, not part of the super 6 and it might have just been a local offer but I snaffled a bag anyway.

Must have been a bit distracted when I wrote this: I meant curried parsnip soup!!

I'm not a fan of parsnips, but had this in a gastropub recently and really enjoyed it!

Same in my local store. I assumed that maybe they didn't have the volume to put them on Super 6. I got some of those and beetroot too. I eat lots of beetroot so I think I'll buy several next week as it's long life and doesn't need to be refrigerated.
