Applied for a Poat Office cc for the BT, get 0% for 15 months being an employee only to be rejected and they said i will get a letter why i was rejected.
Got lettter today with no explanation until i supply them with a ton of details so i signed upto the 30 day free credit check with experian.
There on the list is the search by Bank of Ireland for PO cc ,only they have my DoB wrong & date living at address wrong.
Also RBS for Home Insurance which is news to me.
My % of boring is 11% and everything else is green, never missed a payment according to them which is true.
I gave them the right DoB and Address info but BoI/P.O entered it wrong.
Could their mistakes be the reason i got knocked back ?

It could be. How did you apply -? Get a copy of the application.0

They are probably asking you for a "Ton of Details" because they couldn't ID match you, due to the incorrect data, which is a good reason for a decline! In fact, it's a good reason for a CIFAS marker, too, so I would draft a letter ASAP.
I would include your full name, address, date of birth, and time at address in the letter.
Advise the date on which the application was made (the date showing on your credit report next to the search). Also advise the incorrect data that was entered on the application, as it appears on the search details on your credit report.
Explain what has happened, enclose a photocopy of your Driving License / Passport and a photocopy of your Bank statement / utility bill.
Explain that you did make the application and it was not fraudulent, but incorrect data was entered by one of their employees.
Request in the letter that they remove all record of the original credit search from your credit report as it is innacurate data not in line with the data you provided with your application.
Keep an eye on your credit report, and once the search has dropped off re-apply but this time it may be better to do it online to ensure there are no human errors!
If they do not remove the credit search footprint within 28 days of your letter then write to them again reminding them that the Data Protection Act requires that all data must be accurate, and bona fide, and the original credit search data was not bona fide, and as such should be removed in line with the data protection act regulations.
I wouldn't just ignore it, as you may end up with a CIFAS (fraud) marker on your credit file if you don't write a full letter sharpishCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
