Hi bit of a strange dilemma, not sure if anyone can help.
Have been trading now for three years, have built up a good reputation and have lots of account customers. Yesterday i heard a rumour that a shop has opened this week about 6 miles away in the same trade and they have chosen to use my business name. What can i do about this. It is a very distinctive name which my shop is well known for in the area. Do i consult my solicitor!!!!!!!!!! HELP

had the same down my way, about the same distance apart 2nd hairdresser with the same name think they went for the polite solicitors letter stating you are and have been trading for 2 years
they also got the local paper to run the story, made it clear they were not the same shop the other shop "declined to comment" but changed their name !Ex forum ambassador

I would ask the shop owner first, and ask them to change the name of the business before taking legal action. One day I might be more organised...........
