They copied my name!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Options
Hi bit of a strange dilemma, not sure if anyone can help.
Have been trading now for three years, have built up a good reputation and have lots of account customers. Yesterday i heard a rumour that a shop has opened this week about 6 miles away in the same trade and they have chosen to use my business name. What can i do about this. It is a very distinctive name which my shop is well known for in the area. Do i consult my solicitor!!!!!!!!!! HELP:confused:

I would ask the shop owner first, and ask them to change the name of the business before taking legal action.
One day I might be more organised...........

Have you protected your name in anyway, is it a trademark or registered trademark?

    Have a look at:

    http://www.crossguard.info/

They are an interlectual property firm of specialist solicitors but have a lot of free info on their website.

It wasnt the spelling it was more about the word, for example if someone says they are intelligent but cant spell the word its a tad funny. :)
