I guess they've made cutbacks....
I can only echo what others have said. The tomatoes inside should be absolutely fine. But it may well be worth informing the supermarket, and keeping a very close eye on future deliveries (or using someone else).Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Posting on a consumer rights board ... blaming it on a supermarket ... calling Environmental Health...

I would keep a careful eye on your own home, though. Hopefully I'm wrong but the little critters are on the increase and with having two of your own cats its possible that one has brought it in as a 'gift.'
Only once (that I know of) did one of mine do this and it was a right performance getting rid of the thing! Too many places for it to hide in a house despite the kittie being on guard wherever it detected it!
I think many on here have learnt that mice don't just like dirty homes but are quite content in clean and tidy homes, too.It was a few years ago it happened to us but I'm always keeping a wary eye out.

To be honest if it was me, I simply wouldn't take the chance of cross-contamination from the tin to the contents.
I'm assuming that you didn't pay a fortune for the product. Chuck the tin away.0 -
Put them in your partner's meal to serve him right for not checking the tins when he put them away

When you consider this tin was in with a bag of grapes it could have contaminated them quite easily, its a good thing i wash them thoroughly..._pale_
Some peoples answers made me really laugh :rotfl:
Well EHO collected the tin and have now confirmed it was mouse droppings. The supermarket manager contacted me shortly after and said they are aware that they have a problem with mice:eek: I told him that for the forseable future i wouldnt be using them for food shopping and he offered me a gift card...:rotfl: I refused at first but he insisted and said he's send it anyway to use it for non-food items if i didnt want to buy food there.HeatherMoney Saving Mummy to 2 girlsAlways looking for ways to save money!!:D
