Doesn't make sense to me. My leases says i have to give access to the management company once every 7 years should they wish to access it to view the condition. In reality they never come and i can change the lock as i please.0

Just to echo others our management company don't have a key to our flat, nor will they ever be getting one! And we're even in shared ownership so they'd have more argument over it than yours.
Definitely change the locks!0 -
Change the locks before the tenant moves out and give them one key and arrange to be there to collect this when they leave.
However, if the management company are this bad - then presumably you need better overall security so perhaps upgrade the locks at the same time.0 -
Very confusing!
Why do the management company have a key to your flat?
You are the leaseholder not a tenant therefore they have no reason to enter your flat without your permission and you should be there ithis was the case.
Is it a management company or the letting agents?
I used to run our residents management company and didn't have keys to anyone's flat/house and legally could not enter their property, neither would I want to.
There seems to be more to this, if you're not comfortable putting all the info on here then PM me and I will try and advise/help you. But if you could put it on here then more people could help.0 -
Thanks for all your advice --- it is clear I can change the locks on my flat....! I will ignore my management company that state they should have access to all flats in case of emergencies!
Thank you , Pam0 -

PM equals a personal message to a specific user. Find the poster you want to communicate with by going to one of their posts, left click with the mouse on their user-name and click on the option "Send personal message to (user name)", this will open up a window for you to compose and send your message.0

You may find that by giving the management company a key you negate your contents insurance, this could be a good excuse.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
