Photo ID - Help!

A mate went for a selection test at the DWP but his Photo ID in his passport was out of date.
The DWP would not allow him to take the tests and told him to get his passport photo signed by a doctor (who is on leave) or his dentist (who wants £15 and can't do it immediately anyway).
He is due back on Thursday to take the tests.
Any ideas how he can get some acceptable photo ID?
Thanks.

Surely ANY of the people able to verify a PP pic and form would do? Why a dentist ?? lol
Anyone who has known you for years and is a cop, legal eagle or other professions ...pub landlords even...can do that.
Try ringing them and asking.

I think the DWP told him it had to be a "professional" who he used.0

I agree surely any professional should do, a teacher etc or anyone you know in a senior position in a job eg a director at work, maybe even your manager. Surely your friend should know someone with a 'professional' job along those lines0 -
He could pay £17.50 to DVLA to get it upgraded to a photo licence but that maight take too long (though could be useful for the future?)
Did he not get given a list? assuming the DWP have a similar idea of a "professional" person as the passports people (and lets face it they are pretty strict( then potentially anyone in one of these professions could sign it?

Can we just clarify something please? He was asked to take a valid passport - is his passport valid, but his photo is no longer a good likeness? Or is his passport out of date?Signature removed for peace of mind0

What does his paperwork from the DWP says is "acceptable"?
a citizen card is probably the cheapest/quickest to get.

Yes he took that but it's not one with a photo on.
Also the person refusing entry was an asian who was probably an illegal immigrant and couldn't even speak good english. The cheek of these people is beyond belief at times!
With an outburst like this, why are people helping this person?.....0 -
