I was wondering if anyone was going to post this.
This exploit ONLY affects Symantec's AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.
All of the normal consumer versions used on home PCs are not affected by this.

In addition to the above, the flaw was discovered by another 'security' firm. So hackers will be aware that a flaw exist in the Corporate Edition, but not what it is. I would imagine that Symantec will fix the flaw (known to them) before the hackers find what it was.
Another piece of media misunderstanding of technical matters, affording the Norton-knockers more ammunition.

Later... I see that PC World (the US computer magazine, not the UK 'store'...!) puts Symantec at the top of ten security suites in their recent testing!0 -
Guess this has something to do with the suit that Symantec has filled against Microsoft and this other 'security' firm might have been hired to reveal everything ... Conspiracy???.0
