Transit visa required to change planes in India / China?

Hi travellers!
Hope someone can give me some info or point me in the right direction - I've been struggling to find what I need.
My girlfriend (Polish citizen) and I (UK citizen) are travelling to Bangkok in December. On the way we have a short stop-over in Mumbai (couple of hours), and on the way back a slightly longer stop-over in Beijing (6 hours). What I'm trying to find out is whether I and especially my girlfriend will require a transit visa for either India or China. Both changes are same-day, i.e. we don't land one day and fly out the next.
We know that she will need a visa for Bangkok (as we're staying more than 15 days, she can't get a visa on arrival), and that I won't as there's a waiver scheme for UK citizens staying 30 days or less, but if anyone could advise on the China/India thing, that would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance

China:
Most of China:
No, you do not need a Visa if you are staying in the airport and it is less than 24hrs. If you was say travelling between one airport and another then you would need a transit Visa.
Shanghai:
Rules are different and im not 100% certain of them.0 -
You do not need a transit visa for India if you are not going to leave the airport.0
