in Credit cards
Have a Mint Visa Card and have had a transaction from CPP taken off my account without my knowledge and permission which has put me over my credit card limit whilst out the country. Have asked mint to dispute the transaction - they wont !
They advised me to dispute it with CPP as its a bank issue .
Have repeatedly phoned both and have written a letter to cpp asking for a full refund still waiting .
any advice??

Have you checked your CPP paperwork?
It sounds as though you have arranged a regular payment from your Mint credit card termed a continuous payment authority [CPA].
Once set up, you can’t cancel it. Neither can the credit card provider (or, in the case of a debit card, your bank.) Only the company you've agreed to pay can do this.
As the customer, you'll have to contact the payee directly and ask the firm to cancel the agreement.

FYI (and anyone else reading this), the following companies seem rather keen on CPAs, but slow to cancel agreements:
AA subscription, AOL, McAfee, CPP (identity protection insurance etc), National Homestudy, Natureberry, Norton Anti-Virus, RAC, Sentinel, Sky, Virgin Media and Vistaprint, as many forum users have discovered the hard way.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Updated the cards that are protected by my CPP policy. After submitting I was presented with the message that CPP could take their subscription from ANY of my registered cards. Very bad practice. Will be cancelling when my subscription expires.0

Completely agree - Consumers should always get a choice by being offered a manual-renewal option on the understanding that the policy could lapse. At the minimum, they should give a 30 day notice before the expiry date. Let's hope that is the case!
My 3 year CPP policy is coming to its end in mid 2010; still seems like a useful service but might be better off getting a packaged current account with all the trimmings.0
